Dear Judy, The paper dolls that I ordered from you just arrived in beautiful shape.
They will be making a "surprise" gift to my long-time best friend. We meet
every Tuesday night to crochet with two other friends for "Project Linus", a
program that donates handmade blankets to children in need. Over coffee and
cake we talk about old times growing up in Philadelphia. Naturally, we all
had fond memories of cutting out paper dolls, especially dolls looking like
movie stars! I know my friend will get a good laugh when she opens Loretta
Young and who knows she may even go home to cut her out!!

RESTORING A VINTAGE PAPER DOLL
There are many steps to restoring these paper dolls: The paper may be old, aged, discolored; backgrounds yellow, beige to brown; Colors darkened; Pages unevenly aged- darker on top & edges. Sometimes costumes get trimmed of by the publisher requiring repainting. Other times repaints are done to replace missing & damaged areas. Repairs and restorations can take from 1 to 2.5 hours per page to do all the repairs...sometimes longer.
