This is a reformatted paper doll set, that was presented initially as a boxed set with one heavy board doll, and a long, folded sheet of clothes, made for Whitman's Tekwood series. When I did the reformat, in order to keep the doll(s) and clothes as large as possible, I wound up with just one cover doll and 4 pages of clothes. Sooo, I made the back cover like the first cover, but gave the gal a new hairdo and changed the color of her little playsuit...and she got a new name: This is Susan's friend, Sally.

This way you get two gals who can wear the same clothes...more play value out of the same set.
By the way, I changed the title from "A Wood Doll, This is Susan" to "Susan Wood" in remembrance of it being a wood-backed doll. The box was not dated, but the product was in the 1948 Whitman catalogue...so we date this 1948.

This is one of three Miloche paper dolls we have done from the Tekwood format, and we have all three available to you as stapled books. Look for Mary Wood and Susan Wood among our titles. The one we call Our Dream Girl https://papergoodies.com/scripts/prodview.asp?idProduct=921 was also one of the Tekwood series, but not painted by Miloched.
