Polka Dot Paper Dolls
by David Wolfe
from Paper Studio Press
More fun than a barrel of dots, is this sprightly book by David Wolfe. He didn't create the designs, he searched fashion history to find actual garments with polka dots and painted those as costumes for his three classically cute paper dolls- blonde, brunette and redhead. What a project! We have fineries from funk, film, folk, flamenco, funnies and fine fashion, from 1901 to 2009.
Designers include: Geoffrey Beene, Tom Brigance, Worth, Reboux, Louise Dahl, Howard Greer, Donald Brooks, Loomtogs, Courreges, Balenciaga, Pierre Cardin, Kenzo, Dolce Y Gabbana, Marni, and Jen-Paul Gaultier. Film fashions include The Seven Year Itch (MM dress,) Camille (Garbo,) The Gang's All Here (Alice Faye,) Pretty Woman (Julia Roberts,) Les Girls (Mitzi Gaynor,) The Dolly Sisters (Betty Grable & June Haver.)
Eight pages of costumes, three dolls on cardstock covers, size 8.5" x 11.5"
